日本語のクラス~My Japanese Class

みんなさん、こんにちは!Hi everyone!

Well, I suddenly felt like it would be nice to talk about my experiences and growth in my language classes in high school, so I’ll try posting more about this!

I’m already in my 2nd year of high school and have finally started on my second year of taking Japanese as well! I still can’t converse as I like in Japanese, but little by little, I hope I can add more Japanese in here!

To start off, I feel like my first year of Japanese was wonderful! Though conversation-wise, it’s still too hard, but my class has greatly improved and understood the basics of the language. At the very least, now I know how sentence structures work in Japanese, which is different from English, and I’ve also gotten used to reading and writing in Hiragana and Katakana like it is second nature to me!

Kanji on the other hand, now that’s tough xD My teacher has already taught us 80 kanji characters in the span of our first year, though I still can’t remember nearly half of that! It’ll be quite a challenge learning about 160 new kanji this year!!! I’ve just been trying to familiarize myself with them as much as possible by sticking the kanji characters all over my room ;P

I really hope I will improve even more this year, and try showing that improvement here! I truly love the Japanese language and culture, and I hope I can have a career where I can fully use what I’ve learned in this class.

~On another note, since Chicago Public Schools are still on strike, our second week of school was spent with staying home and procrastinating =x=” It’s so nerve wracking not knowing whether school is resuming the next day till late at night! But I feel a little more productive since I went to the bookstore today ^.^ And I ended up buying some language books as practice and reference while there!~

Well then, until next time guys! じゃまたね!
